# Abyssal Artifact

# Summary

The Abyssal Artifact Recovery site's task is to mine 12 asteroids within a certain timeframe while fighting NPCs. The whole process is repeated 9 times, with shortening timers and bigger NPC spawns. The site fails if the asteroids aren't mined in time. With every new wave, a random abyssal weather effect is on. These effects become stronger over time, they don't seem to be super important to observe though.

<p class="callout warning">While the asteroids are up, there is a warp disruption sphere around the location, so one can't simply warp off!</p>

<p class="callout success">Every time a wave completes successfully (all rocks mined within time limit), each pilot receives a payout depending on the difficulty of the wave, max payout with 5 pilots on grid:  
- minimal = 5m ISK  
- moderate = 7.5m ISK  
- severe = 10m ISK  
Each wave type appears 3 times which nets in a total ISK payout of 337.5m ISK  
Additionally looting the freed caches and salvaging the cans provides brings **the total site value to roughly 400m ISK**</p>

#### Strategy (based on the fittings below):

1. Enter the site with all vessels (drone bunny first, FC)
2. Drone bunny approaches the site beacon and regroups the fleet
3. All vessels launch their drones and assign them to the drone bunny
4. Drone bunny launches the MTU at the site beacon (Packrat at least, or it may be too slow to keep up)
5. All vessels enter a 500m orbit around the MTU
6. Logistics vessels (Vexors) setup the armour rep chain
7. Logistics vessels (Vexors with remote shield) send one remote shield rep to each mining vessel (Pioneer Consortium Issue)
8. Wait for the rocks to spawn (wave 1)
9. Lock 6 distinct rocks with each of the miners, start mining the first 3 ones with each miner
10. Kill the NPCs based on \***Target Priority**, once the miners finish the first 3 rocks, start mining the remaining 3 for each miner. Salvage the NPC wrecks with the drone bunny as they are arriving at the MTU. The triglavian NPCs produce valuable triglavian salvage, the other NPCs t1 salvage.
11. Mining out rocks occasionally spawns a Faulty Triglavian Cache that can be destroyed for additional loot. These structures have to be killed BEFORE the next wave, or they will be lost. Use the drone bunny's drones for killing these structures while the assigned drones further take care of the NPCs
12. After all 12 rocks are mined out, the warp disruption sphere goes down
13. After the timer for the current wave is up, another 30 second timer starts before the next wave spawns
14. Go back to 8 and repeat until wave 9 is complete. After wave 9 completion you have 1 minute to leave grid or will face a nasty drifter battleship

##### Target priority

Kill cruiser sized logistics first, then big to small. This takes care of the neuting issue with big neuting targets as well as the big triglavian NPCs ramping up damage.

<p class="callout warning">As with other homefronts, local belt NPCs may join the action. This is especially problematic in Caldari space with potentially jamming NPCs. Make sure to kill them quickly and verify your logistics chain!</p>
